City School, Country School

The last two days of decision making have been like the book City Mouse, Country Mouse, except for applying it to my job opportunities making it City School, Country School.

Before I explain anything, I just want to make it known that I am grateful that God has made this happen. I take no credit at all. He works through everything, even our doubt. I'm astonished and amazed that He has given me the gift of teaching and wants me to be a "life-timer" as a close friend of mine calls my passion. I thought getting a job here would be difficult even though multiple people in all areas of my life (family, co-workers, friends) all said I would have no problem. They were right! And I'm humbled to know that God is using me in this career.

So I will pick up where I left off yesterday afternoon and try to make a long story short. After being offered the job opportunity at Erpenbeck Elementary (City School) to teach 4th grade yesterday, I was called in for an interview with Piner Elementary (Country School) this morning at 10:00 am. I was offered a 1st/2nd grade looping position that will begin this year in 2nd grade. I went from no jobs to two jobs practically over night!

I told both places that I needed until Monday to decide. So being the verbal processor that I am, I called my SisterChick Holly and told her all of my thoughts on both schools. (By the way, these are both wonderful schools. I just want to put that out there because the main reasons I chose what I chose was not because of wonderfulness at all!) There were many factors that I have thought over in making this decision that I will not discuss on here, but will talk to you about if you want to call me. However, a decision has been made...

Drum roll, please!

Next year I'm going to be teaching 4th Grade at Erpenbeck Elementary School in Boone County, Kentucky!

I'm going to call on Monday morning to accept the position.

Now on to other matters in the Carney House... Someone commented on our house "my clients just starting looking -really love the home-please let us know if something else comes in on it. I believe unless there is a brand new one out there that might pick they are going to move on this one."

That my friends is HOPE! There was a 2nd showing earlier today. We can assume that it was the same people, but don't know for sure quite yet. It would be such a relief if this house were to sell soon.

So that's our latest updates. Our current house guest leaves in the morning and my two favorite SisterChicks show up late tomorrow night. Hooray for friends!

Yes, when she refers to her close friends, I am the other one. Proud to know one of us is a "lifer" on the teacher front. See you tomorrow, Mul!
