Rushing leads to Grumpiness

Do you ever have those mornings where you get up and you expect to be able to relax before going off onto the day, but before you know it you are being told "we need to leave in 20-30 minutes"?

That describes today. We're supposed to be on our way to go hiking at Amacaloah Falls, about 45 minutes from here. Who knows if we'll make it now though? We got up around 7:30 and walked downstairs to say good-bye to my in-laws as they were going to work. About 10 minutes later I'm being told "let's leave in 20-30 minutes."

My head goes "What? I'm not even awake yet!" My stomach started churning. My throat started to close up. My body and mind did not like this idea!

From this experience I have decided that I am officially one of those people who needs time to "ease" into the day. I need sit-down time. Something to drink. A little quiet time. Rushing does not work for me. I get grumpy. Especially when it is not completely necessary. It's not like I'm going to be late for work. That's a different story, something that cannot be helped.

So now that my day has started off not so good, I'm going to go apologize for my grumpiness. And hopefully I'll have pictures of some beauty here in Northern Georgia to share before the day is out!

I am totally with you on the needing to ease into the day. It can really set the tone if you are jarred into activity.

I hope your day ended up great, your grumpiness forgiven, and a glorious time had by all. Can't wait to see the pictures!

Grumpiness is still in tact. I think I'm approaching Girly Time... if you get my drift!

However we did go and I do have some gorgeous pictures. I'll post them either tonight or in the morning. I've been making a cake for my in-laws' birthdays that were a few weeks ago. Yummy peanut butter and chocolate. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Love you both!

Sorry about the grumpiness and the time. On a happy note, peanut butter and chocolate cake sounds YUMMY! And it will probably hit the spot for you. ;) You are such a sweet daughter-in-law.
