A Visit to the City

This afternoon Brent and I went into Newport on an adventure to see what was there. After a lengthy search of desperation for the cheapest gas possible, we arrived at our destination. The picture on the left is of Cincinnati, Ohio from Newport, Kentucky. Yes, that is the Ohio River.

The first thing we did was to walk across the Purple People Bridge. We just walked across the normal bridge from Kentucky to Ohio, then back from Ohio to Kentucky. For a small fee, there is a latter that goes all the way to the top of the bridge that you used to be able to walk across. It's really high in the air, but I'm sure it has an awesome view! (I just discovered that you can no longer climb it, as of May 23... so sad!)
Then we walked around the boardwalk area. It was kinda like Kemah, but had a lot more stuff! It is kinda like an outdoor mall with a boardwalk and movie theatre. We found a great deal for dinner and a movie, so we ate a Moe's Southwestern Grill and watched Shrek 3. I got the awesome new chicken club quesedilla, which I must say is much better than Taco Bell's quesedilla.
The movie was in "digital" which was really cool. It felt like the characters were real because the screen was so clear. If you haven't seen the movie yet, I recommend it. I liked it better than the 2nd one, but not as much as the first. Definitely a film for the whole family!

I can't find my cellphone so I can't call you. So I'm glad we can blog. :) Thanks for the pics of the place. Wonder how church was?

Church was good. We only ended up going on Satuday night because we got up late on Sunday. We want to try more churches before deciding where to go but want to get into a small group at the one we choose to attend.

Sorry you lost your phone. Hopefully you'll find it soon.
