Hiking Mondays

Today we visited Caesar Creek State Park in Waynesville, Ohio. It's a beautiful drive, only an hour away from our apartment. Once we finally figured out the map we ended up hiking about 3 miles. There were two exciting things that happened. The first was crossing the broken bridge that was behind the "Area Closed" sign.

Then there was the snake that we would have walked right past has Brent not seen it. Luckily we have our snake bite kit in case anything would have happened with the unwelcomed guest. There are pics below if you are interested...

For those of you wondering on our progress in church hunting, we have narrowed it down to three choices and began revisiting those three yesterday with Vineyard. Hopefully we'll be joining some kind of small group by the end of August! Thank you for your prayers in this endeavor.

These pictures were taken of our friendly encounter. Look carefully between the two trees next to the green leaf to see his head.

Um, the snake? Seriously scary. I would NOT have seen him. I had to enlarge the pic just to find him. Thank goodness for Brent's eyesight and ya'll's foresight to bring a snake bite kit. What's the story on the broken bridge? Any pictures of that?
Sounds like another exciting Hiking Monday!
P.S. I just finished Yada Yada book 4 :)

I still can't see his head - and his body looks like a stick!! Scary!! I hate snakes! You are a braver woman than I, that's for sure!

There are no more pics of the bridge, but one of the cables across it was broken and not up. We crossed ok, but only went one at a time because I was scared.

Great job on finishing the book! What did you think?
