I have a quick story to tell before rushing off to my second day of school.
I have a few Japanese students in my class this year. Two of them in particular have the same tutor and have been instructed, "Do not speak Japanese at school." They have been in the country a while so this is a very legitimate request.
Well, yesterday we were walking our "wellness" laps and I heard the two of them speaking in Japanese. I told them, "Don't you remember what your tutor told you? No Japanese at school!" One of them looked at me and said "We're not speaking in Japanese."
A few moments go by and I hear it again, clear Japanese. I turn around and give another warning, "No Japanese."
The same little boy looks at me and says, "It's not Japanese, it's Spanish."

Hee! Boys!
I learned yesterday that WE (yes 8th graders) have to participate in some physical activity after lunch too. I was told that our walk from the cafeteria to the classroom is enough physical activity to qualify!
Too funny!!
