Multi-tasking

On her blog, Rachel wrote about multi-tasking in mommying. Being the teacher that I am, I can totally relate with her thoughts. It really made me think about the abilities that God gave us to do so many things at one time. We truly are amazing creatures!

Yesterday I simultaneously:
-went through one kid's things to help him get organized
-told another kid he could use the restroom
-talked to a parent about a service project
-looked over a paper of missing assignments for a group of kids
-kept my class "Shush"ed
-knew how much time it was until recess
-heard a child tell me about her headache
-told myself repeatedly "I love my job! I love my job!"
-thought about what I was going to make for dinner.

Now I am thinking, "If I can multi-task this much, how much more can God do at the same time?" I've always thought it was cool that God was omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. I thought this partially because the words sound neat and they are fun to say. But I never could really wrap my mind around the concept. It seemed too big. It was kind of like those things that you know are true because someone tells you, but you don't understand it, you just accept it. Now I started thinking about this multi-tasking thing this morning. The characteristics of God are making more sense now. He really is everywhere doing everything at the same time. His job is like the ultimate mommy or teacher here on earth. He has the master classroom that is as big as Earth. He can take care of Brent and I with all of our needs, wants, and thoughts while doing the same for family and friends all over the world! We'll never understand how He does it, but I am thankful that He doesn't stop!
