Hooray! It's Friday!

This has been a week. You know the kind. I woke up on Tuesday morning and already thought it had to be at least Thursday. You name it and it has happened over the last seven to eight days.
  • The computer crashing last weekend and having to get a new one
  • A heart-wrenching, challenging sermon at church
  • Brent's car needing alignment and (unexpectedly) new tires
  • Brent having to be on the phone for 3 hours with the internet man
  • Running late to take dinner to a lady in my small group at church
  • Getting a new student who knows no English
  • "girly time" (Enough said!)
  • Meetings each day this week before school... and tutoring after
  • My poor Holly getting sick so she can't come now
  • ameeting about a kid that is failing my class because her parents will not put her on meds for attention issues
  • Constant bickering with Brent for a few days
  • Trying (again!) to figure out the near/distant future for Brent and I

But good things have happened this week too for each of the negative above.

  • We got a new computer. It is beautiful and works great!
  • My heart for serving is increasing as God is calling me to call Kentucky home!
  • Brent's not going to have an accident because his tires are not bald anymore.
  • The internet is fast and works great!
  • Having the sweetest community with the nicest lady. She even gave me fresh chicken eggs! (which, by the way, taste great!)
  • The new student is REALLY QUICK! She's already speaking 1/2 sentences to me!
  • The meetings are for a club that I've decided not to commit to next year because there is a new teacher who knows more and is more excited about it. My eyes were opened to that this week. And I get paid for tutoring!
  • Since Holly was coming my "weekend chores" are finished so I can relax tomorrow. Maybe I'll have a "Retreat of Silence" like we used to do in college.
  • I have the meeting with this mom in a bit this morning. I am praying that she'll listen to the fact that her child has a problem. I hope that we can help her child have hope!
  • For Brent and I there is hope! I now know that these times of "bickering" don't last forever. It's another short season... that will hopefully end soon!
  • Lastly, God has a plan. And I am part of it! He has not left me yet and has no intention of doing so. He loves me beyond my wildest imagination! He delights in seeing me worship Him alone! He longs for me to come to him FIRST instead of when I am at wit's end. So that's what I think I'll do this weekend... get some Jesus lovin'!

What a wonderful way to find the positives in the negatives! You are a blessed woman, indeed!
