Field Trip!

Yesterday the 4th grade went on a field trip to Frankfort, the capitol of Kentucky. We toured the capitol building and went to the Kentucky History Museum. Due to lack of inexperience in planning, the trip was rushed and we were behind for the entire thing. It was good, but next year will be better because we've already made plans for the upcoming trip.
The following was my favorite conversation from the trip.

In the State Courtroom
Student: (looking in awe at the huge judge's chairs) Mrs. Carney, where does Judge Judy sit?
Me: She's only on TV, not here.
Student: (sighing) Ok.

In the Senate
Student: (rushing over excitedly) Mrs. Carney, there's where Judge Judy sits!
Me: No, silly. I told you, she's only on TV.
Student: No, look! It says right there "Judge Judy."
Me: (coming up to read the sign) No, it says "Judge Jooody", not Judge Judy.
Student: Judy.
Me: Jody
Student: Judy.
Me: Ok, whatever you want to believe. But it says, Jody. Judge Judy is only on TV.

Student leaves the Senate, satisfied with finding what he came to Frankfort for...

Somewhere else we'll have to go when we make it up your way. Trying to hit those 50 capitols!

You know, I can totally hear that conversation in my head. ;)
