The Perfect Day!

Today we were given two HUGE blessings!

First, Brent passed the first test for his dispatcher's license. He has to take the last part at the end of August.

Second, is writing portfolios. In Kentucky part of the state assessment is a writing portfolio where 4th graders must write three pieces throughout the course of the school yaer: a personal narrative or short story, persuasive letter or feature article, and a reflective letter. There are four levels that students can score. Here they are lowest to highest: Novice, Apprentice, Proficient, and Distinguished. Last year our school only had 2 distinghed pieces.

Well, today we scored portfolios and there were 21 distinguished pieces in all of the fourth grade.

And guess whose class earned 7 of those? That's right! It was mine! I'm so proud of my kids I can't even stand it right now!

Yesterday we made an offer on a house. Because it is a "short sale" (almost foreclosure) it takes a little longer for things to process. We should know whether our offer was accepted or not by Wednesday...

Congrats to Brent! WooHoo!

As for you, I am so not surprised! Kiss your brain & give yourself a huge pat on the back. Wish I could do it for you. Proud of you!
