Taste of Cincinnati

Exactly one year ago this weekend I traveled the long 22 hours from Houston to Northern Kentucky with Tara and Alison to my new home. On Sunday of that weekend, we went to the Taste of Cincinnati festival. Brent and I created a tradition yesterday by going back. In order to give you a picture of its significance, it's a place where you go to EAT! All of the exquisite restaurants in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky come to this festival and set up booths. Everything costs from $1-$5, so you can taste lots of things. The foods are also from a variety of cultures, so you get a sense of being to lots of places from eating at the festival. Brent and I shared everything we got so that we could eat more. Here are the foods we ended up with:
  • Soft Pretzel with Beer Cheese (German)
  • Crab Ragoon (Thai)
  • Smoked Fried Catfish Sandwich with mustard sauce
  • Grilled Teriyaki Chicken (Chinese)
  • Saratoga Chips with BBQ Sauce (our favorite)
The thing I learned was to look at what the people around you are eating. You'll find out what's good and what portions that different things come in to get the most for you money. We had a great time and can't wait to go back next year!

Wow, a year already? I miss you!

This time last year, I was in NYC. Now? Still in school. Long suffering sigh. ;)

I can't believe it has already been a year since you moved. I was thinking about the Taste of Cincinatti yesterday too! Glad you guys are making it a tradition.

Ya'll do the most funnest sounding things!! And you take such joy in life. All the different food sounds intriguing, but - did they have fried twinkies? I guess that's a delight one can only find at the rodeo here.

No fried twinkies... how sad!
