Time to Chop it off...

I love getting my hair cut periodically because it lets me have a sense of change, but have not done it since the latter part of December. Today I took a brave step by going to Michael's College of Hair Design in Florence. I was a little nervous because the people there are still in training. My nervousness quickly dissipated because the salon is closely watched by the teachers and everyone there makes you feel very comfortable. Plus, I am all about an $8 hair cut!

At first I was going for the Reece Witherspoon look from Sweet Home Alabama, but a little longer. The girl cutting my hair started out by evening it all out, taking about two and a half inches off. About the time that she finished this, she asked if I wanted bangs like in the picture. I told her no, because bangs are a pain to grow out.

About that time I realized that I was not sure if I really wanted to deal with that many layers again either since we're leaving for Alaska tomorrow. So, I chickened out and stuck with a normal "me" hair cut instead.

After chopping it off, here's what you get:In the end I don't look much like the original picture I took with me when I went, but I like it a lot! I guess that's what matters. I am glad that I won't have to pay the consequences of bravery later.

I love it! You look great!

I got my hair chopped of this weekend, too. Several inches taken off, and back to one length - no more layers. I have to have bangs, tho. I look like a dork without them. Maybe I'll put a pic on my blog of my my new summer "do"!

The internal thoughts of Melissa, thanks for sharing. I understand completely. I'm thinking the same thing lately, the hair's pretty long! Love you and hope Alaska rocks!

I just found your blog while looking for an article on Beth Moore's blog... google did it... anyway, I always figure that the thing about hair is that it grows out - the worst hair cut ever will only be temporary!
