Yesterday in my class we were reading The Lotus Seed, a book about a family who has to run away from a war in Asia. While reading the book as a class we were making connections and asking questions. Here's one conversation that took place:
Student: When they got off of the boat they landed somewhere different, just like Noah's Ark.
Me: Very good. What type of connection did you make?
Student: Text to World.
Me: Well, I guess that depends on whether you believe the Bible is true or not, so we must be considerate of the beliefs of everyone in the room. It has to be true in order to be a Text to World connection. (I dispise the fact that I have to say things like this...)
Other student: We could also say it was a text to text. Yea, that's from the Bible.
Original student: No, it's true. It's a Text to World.
Me: (with a big smile on my face) Yes, I agree. It would be both.
And who said the Bible was not in public schools these days?

Excellent! God is shining through you. You might not be able to cry it out loud, but God is using you the way He can.
That reminds me of the conversation you had with J & the mythical creatures (?, I suddenly can't remember the subject but the jist is the same).
