New Things

This school year brings a few new things. I'd like to share a few:
  • Brent and I are going to begin leading a small group with our church in October. We are praying for people to come and that God will grow us and whoever shows up in amazing ways. This is something we've prayed about having the opportunity to do for a long time now, but are now getting the opportunity.
  • I'm working on National Board Certification. Monthly meetings with district people start this weekend. I'm praying for God to lead me through this and that I don't freak out at any point about it.
  • I'm helping with a variety of committees at school this year: Community Circles, Student Council, and Technology. I'm excited about all three, even though Community Circles is the one that is very time consuming come spring.
  • The spring will also bring Writing Portfolios again this year. I am preparing and also praying for God's grace in this area as the year progresses. I don't want April to be like it was last year for me!
And that's what's going on right now in a nutshell. I'm still waiting to hear whether we are having school tomorrow, but the average time this week has been between 9:30 and 10, so I think it will be at least another hour before I hear anything.

Good luck with all your new endeavors! I hope you're able to go back to school tomorrow. They are saying TENTATIVELY next Tuesday (the 23rd) for our kiddos. If that's right, they will have missed 8 days of instruction. No idea how they're going to make that up!

If I lived closer, I would so go to your small group. :) I think ya'll will do an excellent job & people will come.

Good luck with all of it. I know you are anxious about the boards but I KNOW you'll do fantastic.

Yay for power! Hopefully ya'll will return to school soon. This 8 day vacation is not so much fun this close to the beginning of the school year. I'm afraid when we really need it the most, our vacation will be taken away.
