This weekend Holly came up to visit from North Carolina. I loved my time with her so much that last night I got a little teary eyed after she left. Yes, I can really be that sentimental! We had a great weekend. I took a personal day on Friday because she arrived around 9:30. It was nice to have a day just to have a day, if you know what I mean.
After her tour of the house we made our way to McDonald's and it was off to shop for our dear friend Melanie so that we could send her a care package all the way to Thailand. I'd tell you what's in it, but Mel reads the blog, so you'll just never know. I will say that as we were packing it Holly made the comment, "This looks like a package you would get in college."
Friday night we attended a Casting Crowns Christmas Concert that had tons of other performers. Some were really old and others were just too tiny bopper for my taste. My favorite was Avalon and their version of "Joy to the World." It was a nice way to get into the Christmas spirit.
On Saturday we had originally made plans, but scrapped them all when it snowed out. The snow was pretty and just enough to cover the roads, but not enough to make it dangerous. We bummed around all day watching movies, reading, and having some much-needed conversation. Sometimes I forget how little estrogen that I'm around outside of school. It was nice to have a female around.
Yesterday I had to teach the kids at church, so Holly got to sit with Brent at church. We took her to Barleycorns for lunch with Graeter's icecream for dessert- two classic local restaurants. Then she had to leave.
I had a great time with my Holly! I already miss her so much!
Last night we went to see Twilight (Brent finished the book) and put up our Christmas tree. But that's for a later post...

Sounds like just the weekend you needed! I'd say I'm glad you had fun with Holly around, but, duh! Of course you did! It certainly sounded fun to me!
Can't wait to hear your (& Brent's) thoughts on Twilight. J is going to read that book too. Only that book until later. Much later.
Sure do wish there were pictures to go with this post...LOL
Aww, come on....please tell me what I am getting! No, don't. I love surprises. Remember? I wouldn't even tell you what food was being served at your wedding shower because I love surprises so much. Miss you and love you!
