Today I graded last Friday's spelling test. Each week I give 10 high frequency words and 3 sets of word trios. For the trios, the person giving the test (a substitute last week) says the first word and children are to spell it, then give two synonyms spelled correctly from the spelling list.
Word trio: attract, captivate, allure.
Student's answer: attract, capture, suck.
