The plan was camping. Then the weather turned sour, so we ended up taking a short, 48 hour vacation to San Francisco. We arrived around 10:30 on Monday.

First was lunch, then icecream at the original Ghiradelli chocolate factory.

We walked Pier 39 and saw the sea lions. Those are some lazy creatures!

This lady was making fortune cookies. The machine made the circles and she folded the little pieces of paper into them by hand!

Before dinner, back in China Town, we walked up to Coit tower and rode the elevator to the top.

After dinner we walked to Lombard Street. There were even some little girls waving at us from their window. I wonder how many hours a day they spend doing that!

On Tuesday morning we woke up and walked 5 miles to the Golden Gate Bridge. There was no rain until the last mile, when we were drenched! After much thought we decided to ride the bus back to Fisherman's Wharf. It was too wet to walk the 5 miles back.

Tuesday afternoon we rode the ferry over to Alcatraz and completed an audio tour. It was awesome to hear about some of the prisoners that stayed there and see all of the happenings. I have always thought of it only as a prison. There were so many more things that happened!

On Wednesday morning we rode the trolley.

This was our view from the front of the hotel. Overall we had an awesome trip! Our legs are tired from walking at least 20 miles, but it made our Spring Break great!

What a fun spur-of-the-moment trip! A friend of mine is going to San Fran this summer. I can't wait until it's my turn to visit. ;)
I loved the pictures. Can you imagine living on Lombard Street?
That is awesome! I have always wanted to go to San Francisco.
We saw a lot of the same things as yall. Didn't make it to Chinatown though. Next time going kidless though :P
