The first week in July

Holly came to visit last weekend. We enjoyed art at the Cincinnati Art Museum on Friday, followed up by lunch at Deweys. They have amazing calzones! The day ended by visiting Bridget at UC then going to a soccer game- the Cincinnati Kings- with Brent. Saturday we chilled in the morning before spending some valuable time at Borders, browsing books of all types. Unfortunately it rained so the fireworks in Independence were cancelled until Sunday. We still enjoyed hamburgers even though they were a little burned since they were cooked on the George Foreman instead of grill. Holly made her way back home on Sunday morning. We had a great time together.

Sunday I relaxed most of the day, knowing summer school was beginning on Monday. I am coordinating summer school this year and since it was not decided until around June 8 that we were having school it has been somewhat of an unorganized fiasco. Lucky for me, things have slowed down a little since students showed up on Monday. The most exciting things have involved transportation: not knowing bus numbers, classes missing the bus, and a student deciding on her own to be a car rider.

And that's my first week in July. The next three weeks include taking the GRE next Thursday, applying to the Instructional Leadership Program at NKU, completing summer school, and tutoring.

I promise I'm not working the first two weeks in August!
