For Brent's birthday we made a getaway to the small town of Yellow Springs, Ohio. We stayed at the Arthur Morgan House, which was amazing! It is a house built in the early 1900s for the President of Antioch College. The college is now closed and the house has been renovated into a Bed and Breakfast. The room we stayed in, the Warbler's Nest, was beautiful. Breakfast was phenomenal and the staff was most friendly.
Yellow Springs itself is a "liberal" town with lots of fun shops and fun places to eat. On Friday night multiple bands were playing either in bars, coffee shops, or (as seen below) outside an icecream shop. On Friday night most shops were closed so we walked around again Saturday afternoon. During our walk Brent spotted Dave Chappelle, a comedian. I had no idea who he was, but Brent realized who he was immediately. He did not talk to him, but found it enthralling to see a celebrity while we were in "middle of no where" Ohio.
Yellow Springs also has opportunities for hiking, which was one reason I chose to take Brent there. Outdoor opportunities include John Bryan State Park, Glen Helen Nature Preserve, and Clifton Gorge Nature Preserve. Because of our limited amount of time we only got to go to Glen Helen, which we thoroughly enjoyed! Below you can see me crossing a creek (at 7 months pregnant!) and the Yellow Spring which the small town is named for.

We had an amazing weekend!
The nice thing is that Yellow Spring is only about an hour and a half from home, so we could make it a day trip. However, it's far enough away that it feels like a total getaway.
We can wait to go back!
