Friday Morning Thougths

On Friday morning when I got in my car after dropping Oliver off at the babysitter, I could not get over how happy he was. His smile had been contagious all morning. Any time we looked at him he giggled or squealed. He was wearing the cutest outfit ever (seen below). Plus he'd slept for 9 1/2 hours (from 9 pm-6:30 am) for the first time. He is a happy baby!
Friday morning waiting on the way out the door.
Happy as can be!
On the way to school I started thinking about why he was happy. Most of us usually think that happiness comes when we get our way. This could not be the case with the little guy because he doesn't know what he wants. But his needs are met. He has clothes to wear, food to eat, warmth, love, and anything an 11-week old could ask for. So what about me? Why am I not always content? I have all I need as well. God has provided for my needs just like Brent and I are able to provide for Oliver. This put a smile of contentment on my face. I am learning from a baby how to be truly happy.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Matthew 6:25-26

Wow. What a good thought and cute pic too. Keep on telling us what you learn from this cute baby of yours!
