A Rough Morning

This morning Oliver had quite a rough morning... but none of it was his fault! I had an hour delay, which is beautiful since I don't have to go in until an hour late like the kids. I still got up pretty much at the same time as normal so I would get some Oliver time before going to school. Well, there were three things that happened to make Oliver's morning rough.

First, I accidentally missed his fingernail and cut his finger when clipping his nails. Because I was trying to get them kinda short so I would not have to go back for a few days it was a pretty deep cut. Also it bled and bled and bled. I had to get Brent to help me get the bandaid on it because it kept slipping off between the wet wipe I was using to wipe the blood off and the ointment I was putting on it. The entire situation was quite hilarious to us... especially since it didn't really seem to bother Oliver too much.

Second, Brent and I were laughing about something while Brent was holding the little guy. All of a sudden Oliver leaned back really far, so much it looked like a move from the Matrix. Brent quickly caught him so there was no catastrophe, but it did scare Oliver a little, causing him to cry for a bit.

Lastly, when I suctioned Oliver's nose, which does not seem to bother him too much usually, nothing was coming out. So I used saline drops to loosen it up, which gagged him. When he stopped gagging he coughed really big, causing huge amounts of snot to spray out of his nose. This he did not like, causing more tears.

In the end Brent made up another cute song about kissing toes and knees and cheeks, making Oliver laugh. We decided that after this kind of crazy morning it was time for Oliver to take a nap and start over. Poor little guy! The rest of the  day was pretty good after all!

Oliver enjoyed sitting up in his chair and playing with the pillow.

Here is what a typical night after bath time is like for Oliver.
