Ten Nice Things

This week's Ten on Tuesday is all about nice things people have done for you. I realized that there was an overwhelming amount of nice things people have done for me. As I was running this morning I thanked God for putting these, and many more, people in my life to take care of me.

Here are just 10 nice things that come to mind.
  1. My mom for time she spent with just me growing up. My favorite was when we got icecream and did not tell my brother or sister.
  2. Brent has done SO many things. My favorite that comes to mind is when he used to walk me to my car as I was commuting back home during college. Then he would wait up on me to call him when I got home after the 30 minute drive.
  3. My favorite nice thing Holly did for me was when she would let me take naps on her dorm bed in between work and class when I was completely exhausted and would not even keep my head up. Then she would give me peanut butter crackers for a snack too!
  4. My favorite Melanie thing was when she would drop everything in college for "spontaneous sleepovers" at my house. Man, we got in trouble for those, but they sure were fun.
  5. "Princess Week". The week before my wedding Holly and Melanie did not do anything the entire week except cater to my every need. Holly came and stayed with me an hour away from home and Melanie cleared her usually packed schedule. It was very special for the three of us, something I'll never forget!
  6. My boss at Ingles, Joe, for making my schedule work in college. I could have never made it through those 4 crazy years without him being flexible with me so that I could go to school and work at the same time.
  7. Doug and Rachel for opening their house for me to live my first year out of college. I'll never forget the night Rachel called and asked if I needed somewhere to stay the next fall. I had no idea where I was going to work, live, or anything else. Then all of the sudden I had an answer. It was an amazing blessing!
  8. I'll never forget the year John, my father-in-law, gave me tires for Christmas. I was so confused. I needed them so bad, but did not have the money for them. I didn't even ask for anything. The next thing I knew I had just followed him to the car shop and I was being told to leave my car there. What a wonderful surprise!
  9. Mary Ann, my mother-in-law, always goes on "girls' day out" with me when we visit each other. We go shopping, to a tea room, or to get our nails done.
  10. Long talks with my Houston girls. There are so many that it overwhelms me to think about the time they invested in me during the last three years. Whether at school, church, group, shopping, driving to Beth Moore, or running, these girls were always there for me with some love and advice.

My list could go on...

Great list!! You are one lucky chickie. :D

It's so good to remember the nice things. Too often the negative stuff is what sticks. Not cool.

Thanks for the shout-out. Those were good things to remember. In some ways, I feel more like myself in that memory that in present life now. Washing your car was a pretty funny thing Holly and I did for you! It's because you're so special!!!
