My Idiosyncracies

I have been tagged by the lovely Thai Currie to share some things that make me unique. Here goes nothing...

1. I need a daily schedule. Even on days when I am going to take it easy I end up making a To Do list so that I know what "the plan is". I have been known to do this strangely enough on vacations. When Melanie and I went to the beach a few years ago we had the entire trip planned out before 9 am on the first morning after we got there. When Brent and I went to Costa Rica the same was true. Each morning the first thing we did was figure out what we were going to do. I now have Brent making To Do lists on his days off so that he can be more productive. I'm telling you... it's contagiuos!

2. I have to know how much further on a road trip. It drives me nuts not to know how much longer it is before getting to the destination. I will pull out the map, calculate mileage, discuss and even ask how much further and how much longer? It sounds crazy, but it really helps withstand long trips when I set "time goals." I have learned to warn people I travel with about this because I have been told that it can be really annoying. Remember helping me move to Texas, Holly?

3. I say "funny" a lot! And most of the time it is not laughable. I guess this could pair with the fact that I tend to laugh when I do not know how to react to something. Again, not usually funny. It's one of my strange defenses when I'm not sure what to say or do. As Pheobe from Friends says, "Is it funny Ha Ha? Or is it funny because you don't have another word to say?"

Those are the three that quickly come to mind. Feel free to add more in the comments if you think of any.

We are a lot alike, especially the how much further on road trips part!

I'll get on my tag this weekend. Thanks!

I do the same thing on road trips - I have to follow along on the map so I can "see" where we are and calculate how much longer until we get there. I usually break it up into "legs" and I've gotten to where I'm pretty durn accurate on my timing!
