Race Around... Northern Kentucky!

As part of our church's way to get more people involved in our church, tonight we had WaterMark's version of "The Amazing Race." Brent and I had a blast! We met a new couple at our church who were really fun to hang out with in the mean time. (I later found out that the girl in the couple was the soon to be sister-in-law of someone on my team at school. Small world!)

There were four tasks. The first one began at Panera Bread. Four team members (there were 10 on our team) had to run across the mall parking lot to find someone with black and blue Sketchers on for the clue. I spotted him quickly as he came from in front of Dillards.

From there, we had to go to Devou Park, which overlooks Cincinnati. It's the first time I had been there. Look at this awesome view:
At Devou Park, four team members had to put on flannel shirts and button them up while wearing gardener's gloves.

The next clue led us to the church office where four team members had to eat pureed Spam and ketchup. Brent did this feat and is still dealing with the aftereffects hours later.

The last clue was to the pastor's father's house. Again four people were involved. The first had to jump rope, the second do the dizzy bat thing, the third blow a bubble with five pieces of bubble-gum in their mouth, and then the last had to run for the next clue. I did the running. It proved to me just to realize how our of shape I really am!

From there we went to the "finish line" at church for ice cream sundaes. It was definitely a fun night! Also, I saw Prince Caspain last night. It's great! I recommend that you read the book before going to see it, because there are some things going on in the movie that just make more sense if you've read the book first. Be prepared though! The movie is very much like the book, it just takes a lot of the story out of order. For the purpose of making a movie, I see why they did it.

If you really want to enjoy the movie, have a witty 10 year old sitting beside you who paid attention during the class read-a-loud, notices the oddest things, serves as entertaining commentary, and constantly contributes quiet conversation. Lexi did a great job of all of these thing!

I give the movie 4.5 out of 5 stars!
