Learning Things

I'm not usually a non-fiction reader. When Brent and I first got married a friend of mine sent this book to me. I have picked it up a few times, but never gotten more than a chapter in before putting it back down. Well, yesterday I ran out of things to read and was looking through my night stand for something. I found this.

Right now I'm only about six chapters into it, but am really enjoying the thought that marriage was designed to make us holy more than to make us happy. Gary Thomas has written so many stories about his and other marriages and how various situations cause us to have two reactions: make us holy or make us hate (my blunt paraphrase). I am feeling challenged by the book, but unlike my usual reaction, it's not making me so uncomfortable that I'm in a bad mood. So far, I would say it's worth the read!
