Stuff to Catch Up!

If you want to see more pictures from Alaska, here's a link. There is no commentary, but many of the pictures have commentary on the other posts, or you can go to my facebook page if you have an account. (It's free if you don't and just want to look!) Sorry, but I ran out of cute ideas for posts, or maybe I'm just lazy. You decide.

As for other things, Brent and I are excited because tomorrow is the big day.... we FINALLY get carpet for the ground-level of our house! We've been living in the basement, which is finished, for over a month now. It's not bad, honestly, just not homey. Everything is thrown together so we can't find much of anything, and it's messy because I don't have patience to clean up what will just have to be moved anyway.

If all goes well tomorrow, then some friends from Game Night are going to come over on Tuesday and help move furniture upstairs and we just might get to actually sleep in our room that night. I am praying so!

We went to see The Dark Knight last night. As the name implies, it was a very dark movie, much more than I anticipated. The acting was amazing, as was the story plot. There were lots of good-versus-evil dilemmas in the movie. In the end, I left feeling sad, like I needed to find something good in the world.

Sadly, I dreamed about the movie last night, that the Joker was chasing me. (The last time I had a dream like that I was about 10 and it was the Wicked Witch of the West.) Would I go see it again? Probably not. Would I say it's worth going to once? Yes. Take the kids? No! (And yes, there were very young children in the theatre...)

Brent is on the final stretch of studying for his dispatcher's license. He's hoping to be done by mid-August and is spending tons of time diligently studying. He's such a hard worker; I admire his stamina.

It's not long until the s-word starts again. My friend Kelli says I'm not allowed to say it yet, it's too early. Maybe after August 1? Anyway, being the nerdy teacher that I am, I am starting to get excited. What will my kids be like? What will I teach? What amazing stories will I have to tell about as the year progresses?

And I think that's about all that's going on in the Carney house right now. Plus, this is a much longer than I originally intended post. Funny how I can "verbally process" through typing sometimes!
