In the Woods

Yesterday's grumpiness has passed and I'm reminded of God's grace for me. This morning in my devotional I was reading about being bold in my prayer life. I pondered thoughts such as "Do I just drop everything and pray?" and "Am I embarassed or hesitant to pray outloud because I am scared of what others will think about me?"

Yesterday we went to Amicoloa Falls State Park here in Georgia. It is the beginning point of the Appalachain Trail, going from Georgia to Maine.

Can you believe that people actually do the entire thing?

Wilson wants to go!

First we hiked about a mile up the back side of the mountain. (It was not a hill.... trust me!) Once we got to the top, we went down over 400 stairs to the middle of the falls. Wilson was adorable because the stairs were metal grates and he was terrified of getting his foot caught in them, or falling through I suppose, so he just jumped from the edge of one to the edge of another one. There were also some summer camp groups there with tons of children. Wilson loved how almost every single one of them stopped to pet him.

In the middle of the stairs is where the waterfalls were. We were able to walk over them on a bridge. The weather was beautiful and not too hot. We had a great trip and can't wait until our next hiking adventure... which will probably be in Kentucky!

Wilson says, "I can't wait until next time!"
