The Last of Hiking Mondays

I am sad to report that this was the last Hiking Monday of the summer. Today we visited Cincinnati Nature Center again, hiking about 4 miles in the northern trails this week. We did not take Wilson with us after his rendeveau with ticks last week. The hike itself was beautiful, but a little warm for our taste, hitting the low 90s. If you click on the picture to the left you can see two small frogs relaxing on lilypads. They were two of the only ones to brave us walking around the pond without jumping in.

After hiking we made our way to a outdoor's store we had heard about called Nature Outfitters. It was located in historic downtown Milford, Ohio. I found some awesome shoes there, but they were unfortunately too small for my huge feet. There were also lots of other shops we enjoyed visiting, including a vintage clothing store where the lady talked our heads off! They had some awesome stuff for dressing up in though. I can imagine it being a great resource for this coming year, depending on my needs...

We also washed Brent's car today. That was great for him as he misses having his own garage and waterhose. We had a blast doing it together! And after a dinner of burritos at home we watched the movie Inside Man. It's a little slow, but great if you are looking for a suspenseful evening at home. So now I prepare for my trip to Florida to see my grandparents. I am really excited about seeing them as it has been a few years since the last time. My flight leaves early in the morning and I come back on Thursday afternoon. I may or may not have internet there, but that does not mean I don't have a cell phone. Feel free to call anytime!
