On my last day of summer I am relaxing. That's right: Mrs. Busy Body herself is sitting still for a day to regroup and unwind before the coming days try to overwhelm and take away her sense of life.
This was a nice weekend after getting past Friday afternoon's queen migraine. For any of you out there who have them, Lord have mercy on us! That is the first time I have been touched with the curse of the migraine and I hope it never happens again. It started around 1:30 on Friday afternoon and I did not feel better until I woke up on Saturday morning. Details are unnecessary from here as I do not want to reread this ever and remember what it was like!
John and Mary Ann came through this weekend. We got icecream with them on Friday night, which I vaguely remember because of the episode discussed above. My morning on Saturday was spent cleaning up the apartment before they came over. Then we explored the area and looked at houses before Brent got home from work.
For dinner we decided to take John and Mary Ann to Newport. I was supposed to pick the restaurant as they wanted to take us out, but due to modesty and not being quick on my feet we ended up with a night of diversity at Cafe Istanbul. That's right! Brent decided that he really wanted some Turkish food and knew he'd never get there with just me. So we ended up with a wide variety of lamb for dinner. (As a side note, I felt like I was in Japan again and wished Melanie was there to pre-warn me before I tasted anything. I kept the flour tortillas close in case of taste disasters...) I had the stuffed eggplant which was not that bad since I really like eggplant.
This morning we met John and Mary Ann for breakfast before sending them on their way back to Atlanta. After breakfast we tried another church. We actually met a girl I work with and her husband. It was on our "No" list for a variety of reasons, but we have not given up yet.
And it's only a few more hours before time to go to bed and get up for a new school year. The first day of school is always so much fun!
