Another First

The big "first" for this week was Oliver's first hiking trip on Tuesday morning. We took him to Big Bone Lick State Park (about 30 minutes from our house) and hiked about 2 miles. As you can see, Brent and I took turns carrying him in our nifty hiking carrier. We enjoyed a beautiful morning with our little guy.

We hiked the Coralberry Trail at Big Bone Lick State Park.
We discuss the importance of hydration while hiking.

O's new hat
Our lesson of the morning was that babies get sun easier than adults. Luckily he did not burn the top of his precious head, but we were worried for a bit. While Brent was working on Thursday Oliver and my big adventure was to find a hat for him to prevent this from being a problem in the future. We looked all over Northern Kentucky and ended up finding something at our last stop of the day. A picture of the hat I bought is on the right. I'll work on getting a picture of him wearing it sometime in the next week.

Yay!!! Hiking! Is it crazy to be responsible for not only tripping all over yourself but your baby too? I love the cute hat. Love you guys! Hug Oliver for me! Give him a kiss on those sweet cheeks for me.
